Richard studied Sculpture at Bath Academy of Arts, when Ken Hughes was head of the department. During the holidays, he worked for Barry Baldwin masonry and Carving Ltd. who helped him with a practical approach to stonework.
After leaving college, he worked as a conservator, mason and carver on many historical buildings such as Wells, Truro and Bristol cathedrals.
He now works full time as a carver and sculptor.
His workshop is situated in North Devon, between Bideford and Torrington.
He trades under the name of North Devon Stone Conservation Ltd and is conversant with working in the construction industry.
If you might be interested in commissioning he would be happy to provide drawings, a scope of works and an estimate.
